HIGHWAY OF CORPORATE

Most of us are trying to make sense of the corporate world where we work in: “What does it mean?” Everyone goes through their little routines. We have our knowledge, ideas, experience, decision making skills; we make our journeys. Its two steps forward, two steps back; three steps forward, four steps back.

As we drive on a highway, may be we see sign marks that indicate our destination is 50 kilometers away, then 40 kilometers away. So, we know where we are. But on the highway of corporate, where are the sign marks? There are no clear or visible sign marks. All we have a calender where we can see another year has gone by. Most employees even celebrate that.

One day, all of a sudden, we find ourselves active. We exist. Now what do we do? People try to find some meaning, get some answers. There are many questions and very few answers. There are many misunderstandings and very few real understandings. There are many problems, but very few solutions.

Time is like a big hand that keeps pushing us on or recharge.

·         May be when the employee has an experience of 10 years, they are a lot more knowledgeable than they were at 5 years;
·         At 15 years, they will have a lot more knowledge than they had in 10 years;
·         At 20 years a lot more knowledge than at 15 years.

By knowledge, it means being better prepared to cope with the corporate world. May be they changed a few things. May be they corrected a few mistakes.

Yet the hand of time keeps pushing us. It will not let us stop; not even to take a break for one minute, to prepare a little more. That’s not allowed. So what do we do?

ü  Are we frustrated by justification or delighted that we are active?
ü  Are we frustrated trying to reason where we are on the highway of corporate?
ü  Are we trying to look for answers as to why this or that happened?

People do this but what’s the point? Where do we put the steering wheel in a car? Is it in the front or the back? Where do we want to be looking when we are driving on the highway in front or in back? .........
